Ryan Freel's eight-year MLB career resulted in a modest amount of cardboard -- but his family would treasure any of his cards that they can find.

The former utility player for the Blue Jays, Reds, Orioles, Cubs and Royals died in 2012 and it was discovered that he had chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, which is a degenerative brain condition. His family is looking for cards for his three daughters, Ava, Alex and Aliana.

The Big One has been found.

The 2018 Bowman Shohei Ohtani Superfractor autograph has been pulled from a hobby box of the baseball cards by John Muheim, a business partner at Spectrum Photography in Orangevale, Calif., who is a St. Louis Cardinals fan and a long-time collector.

"I've been collecting since 1999-2000 and have had some good fortune over the years. But this is the whale," Muheim said. "I've opened three jumbos and this was the fourth regular hobby box. ... I plan to grade it and have already talked with Beckett Grading Services. I have lots of ideas after that and definitely have a big decision to make. Selling is of course at the top of the list."
