BlowoutCards.com has caught another legendary Pokémon card at auction.

Tonight, when the dust settled over at Heritage Auctions, one of only two Pokémon Blastoise #009/165R Commissioned Presentation Galaxy Star Hologram cards made by Wizards of the Coast in 1998 sold for $360,000. It's graded a CGC NM/Mint+ 8.5 and "the present day existence of the other is questionable" as it may not even exist now according to the auction house. Just two of these blank-backed cards were made to present the concept of an English-market release to Nintendo executives all those years ago.

"Pokémon is the largest media franchise and this is one of the rarest collectibles," said Blowout's Thomas Fish after the sale. "I had to catch this one."

The Item: Jerry Jeudy 2020 Panini Playbook Vault booklet (/10)
The Price: $163.50 after 23 bids (four days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is a perfect example of some of the big stuff coming out of boxes of this brand this year. Playbook is a line where you typically get some kind of booklet in every box -- one per this year -- and I can say I've window-shopped this one hard through the years. (I've never been focused enough on any one player to commit and chase something like this, though.) Once the initial flood of cards like this hits eBay they will get a lot tougher to find for a lot of guys -- maybe not the biggest names with the biggest dollar signs -- and that's why watching what arrives right now can be important. The question above says it all and I need to know what others think on this Wednesday afternoon.

Why? Well, one player inside this set has a unique career and has had a dominating season so far, too. And, his enigmatic journey is one that has just as odd of a cardboard résumé ... one that sparks said question.

This is the 2018-19 Panini Instant NBA Finals box set -- a relatively plentiful release with 49,286 sets ordered in the wake of the Toronto Raptors' first championship. A number of those sets are found in this colorful team-adorned box -- it's a cheap set, too, by the way, when you can find it -- while other copies that were ordered directly on the Instant site arrived without the packaging but every card in a sealed top-loader as you can see here.

I grabbed the set back in the day and recently landed one still in the box -- I have no intent to open it because it's the super-rare instance where I wanted one sealed since even the box shows the player I collect.

It's party time once again on Feb. 9.

Topps revealed that the year's 2021 Topps Series 1 Rip Party will take place on the Tuesday before the flagship product's formal arrival to the world.

It will once again showcase breakers but this time they will "go head-to-head as they rip open 2021 Series 1 and compete for the Platinum Box Cutter" and also open some packs from the past with other guests.

Just how that will happen is yet to be detailed but it will all take place via Topps' social media channels.

Rittenhouse Archives revealed on Monday its process for replacing autopenned cards it released of a top TV star.

The autographed cards of Seth MacFarlane in its The Orville Archives Autograph Card Edition release were autopenned (above) but the show creator has signed new cards to replace those that were machined.
