Action Comics No. 1,000 will get eight covers for 80th anniversary

The original home of Superman is hitting a milestone -- and DC Comics will have the variant issues ready for those ready to collect them all.

Seven of the eight covers for Action Comics No. 1,000 have been teased by the company in advance of its release and they'll all reflect different times in the 80 years since "The Man of Steel" starred in the first issue.

The special over-sized issue will be $7.99 for its standard version and is set to arrive on April 18. There also will be a blank variant cover for those who collect custom artwork on the show circuit. (None of them will rival this copy of the original issue, which is on the auction block in high-grade right now and that we spotlighted this week.)
