Adrian Beltre's 3,000th hit gets Topps Now cardboard -- and ink

The newest member of the 3,000 Hit Club has new autographs.

Adrian Beltre became just the 31st player in MLB history to reach that plateau and his Topps Now cards today are documenting the feat on cardboard -- with and without ink.

He's just the third third baseman to join the club and is the first born in the Dominican Republic -- and the 38-year-old Texas Rangers star also hasn't been much of a signer in the past, either, helping give these new autos a bit more life than you might expect.

Despite appearing on cards since 1997, Beltre has fewer than 450 different certified autographs -- and he only has 11 previously signed cards from Topps, the lone MLB-approved card-maker right now. Nearly 300 of his autos have come from Panini America (previously Donruss/Playoff) while the rest come from Upper Deck or Fleer.

Beltre has redemption for a booklet card in 2017 Topps Allen & Ginter that's limited to only 10 copies, but the remainder of his past autos are from back in 2002 Topps, 1999 Bowman and Topps Gallery, and in 1998 Bowman's Best and Bowman releases. That's it.

The unsigned cards will be printed to order and will only initially be available from Topps.com for 24 hours. If 3,000 copies are ordered, then 3,000 copies will be printed. The autographs will be available only until they are sold out.

The signed cards start at $69.99 (/199) and range up to $1,499.99 for the 1/1 Gold card.

These cards will not be all that plentiful but they mark the return of Beltre to Topps cardboard on the autograph front. Meanwhile, Beltre only has three Rookie Cards -- 1997 Bowman, 1997 Bowman Chrome and 1997 Bowman's Best -- all coming before Chrome auto RCs (and later prospect cards) were more the norm.

Below is a rundown of Club 3K from Baseball Reference -- every player who is eligible for the Hall of Fame is in Cooperstown except for Pete Rose and Rafael Palmeiro. The next enshrinement will be Derek Jeter, while Ichiro Suzuki remains an active player along with Beltre, while Alex Rodriguez awaits his shot on the ballot having most-recently retired from MLB.
