Albert Pujols joins autograph signers lineup for The National

One of baseball's biggest sluggers is set to sign at this year's National Sports Collectors Convention this August in Cleveland, Ohio.

TRISTAR announced on Tuesday that Los Angeles Angels designated hitter and future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols will be among the autograph guests for this year's show.

The 38-year-old enters his 18th big-league season with 614 career home runs -- seventh all-time and the leader among active players. With even a sub-par season he should pass Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. for sixth-place on the list this summer. (The next-closest active home run hitters? Adrian Beltre, who is also 38, and Miguel Cabrera, who is 34 -- both have just 462 homers.)

The three-time MVP appears on nearly 1,700 different certified autographs since he broke in as the National League Rookie of the Year with the St. Louis Cardinals back in 2001. He's also likely to become the next member of the prestigious 3,000-hit club as he enters the season with 2,968 career hits.

Pujols' signing day has not yet been revealed -- the signing schedules aren't yet final for any signer -- but the show runs from Aug. 1-5 at the IX Center.
