Topps is taking its cardboard to the football field once again.
The Alliance of American Football will have Topps football cards ready in time for its opening weekend -- early next month -- and it will be initially via the Topps Now platform and then in packs in March.

The new pro football league founded by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian will have its opening weekend on Feb. 9-10. A new release, 2019 Topps Alliance of American Football, will arrive in stores beginning on March 22 via both hobby and retail channels. >>Pre-order yours here
According to Topps, some of the players in the set will include Christian Hackenberg, Josh Johnson and Aaron Murray with the coaching ranks also reflected on cards including Steve Spurrier and Mike Singletary. Autographs also will be in the mix.
Update: The 200-card set will be found in 24-pack Hobby boxes with 10 cards per pack and 12 boxes per case. The eight-team league will have its stars and coaches showcased throughout with a mix of names from the Salt Lake Stallions, Orlando Apollos, Birmingham Iron, San Antonio Commanders, Memphis Express, San Diego Fleet, Arizona Hotshots and Atlanta Legends included. Autographs will be signed on-card for this one though no odds were announced by the company.
Update (Jan. 29): There will be three autographs per hobby box with each of them having Purple (/5) and 1/1 Black parallels. ... The base set will include six parallels per card -- Red (/99), Blue (/50), Gold (/25), Green (/10), Purple (/5) and 1/1 Black. ... Future Stars cards will lead the insert chase beyond the parallels with these cards found four per box. They'll have Gold, Greem. Purple and Black parallels with the same volumes.
