Are you ready for Nick Senzel's arrival? If not, it's not too late

Cincinnati Reds fans may have a new reason to go to the ballpark as soon as this weekend as a top draft pick could be called up at any time.

He's Nick Senzel and he was the second pick in the 2016 MLB Draft out of the University of Tennessee. After today, the cellar-dwelling Reds can call him up without losing a year of contract control -- a move that's commonly been used for top names in recent years, no matter what their spring numbers said.

In Senzel's case, the spring stats weren't earth-shattering -- he hit .286 (8-for-28) with three RBI -- but last season he hit .321 with 14 homers and 65 RBI between two levels. He's been working a few positions in the infield and, most importantly, the 2-10 Reds just lost their starting third baseman to injury.

On cardboard, he's been watched since Day 1, though, and he's got nearly 250 different autographs among his nearly 550 different baseball cards. His earliest autographs can be found in three 2016 prospects-focused releases -- Leaf Metal Draft, Leaf Trinity and Elite Extra Edition. Between these three releases alone, he's got almost 100 different signed cards with the EEE cards (and Contenders in that) showing him in his Vols uniform.

His first MLB prospect autos arrived last year. with appearances in Bowman's Best, Bowman High Tek, Bowman Platinum and Bowman. That last one also means his autographs can be found in the elusive Bowman Mega Boxes that include the errantly released World Baseball Classic cards of Shohei Ohtani.

Baseball America ranked him as the seventh-best prospect heading into this season, while MLB and Baseball Prospectus also placed him in that same position. With things looking rough in Cincinnati so far, an injection of youth with some success could make him the target of even more fans if he starts strong.

The cheapest Buy It Now autos for Senzel -- ones showing him in his Tennessee orange -- are around $30, while his cheapest MLB autos are around $40 and up right now on eBay. His cheapest Chrome autos, though, aren't found until you get into the $150 range and the graded rarer specimens are pushing up toward the $5,000 mark in most cases with one even higher than that right now.
