DARK KNIGHT IN DEMAND
The Item: Batman tin robot with original English box (Nomura Toys, 1966)
The Price: $5,250 after 29 bids (ends July 11)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This vintage Japanese toy is a foot-tall prime piece of pop culture with an obvious 1960s feel yet with some aspirations of something more for the future -- it's a battery operated tin toy and it's complete with its Adam West-styled box and fabric cape. This one is "an iconic fusion of superhero flair and vintage tin toy charm" per Heritage and it's one of two known styles -- this one has the serious face and one with the switch button in red. Heritage calls this "a standout from the golden age of Batman collectibles, blending Japanese craftsmanship with Gotham nostalgia."

THE GREAT BAMBINO
The Item: Babe Ruth 2006 UD SP Legendary Cuts A Place In History Cut Signatures (1/1) -- PSA 10
The Price: $17,000 after 31 bids (ends July 11)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: A Babe Ruth autograph isn't necessarily all that rare -- he signed plenty for plenty of people in his day -- but the demand for those sigs in all those years since is arguably as high as it gets for sports icons from the past. The Sultan Of Swat and a 1/1 cut auto from a very popular and heavily collected brand of the past is perhaps as big as it gets among cardboard and this one is up for grabs this week. "This historic issue is adorned with rich gold decals and ornate borders on a parchment-inspired design, making it one of the most visually regal and revered Ruth autograph cards ever produced," according to Heritage.

AWAITING THE NEW MOVIE ..
The Item: Fantastic Four No. 122 (Page 6) original art by John Buscema and Joe Sinnott (Marvel, 1972)
The Price: $4,200 after 44 bids (ends today)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: With a new film in the Marvel franchise arriving soon revisiting this iconic team and legendary comic book, an original piece of art this month makes sense here -- and we'll get to see how much added interest there might be right now as this auction ends this evening. The comic book arrived in 1961, so this isn't super early in the run but it's also still more than 50 years old -- and that means a lot of the pages from the past, whether immensely detailed or simple, have likely been tucked away in collections more and more over the years. This one shows all four members of the team -- Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing -- as well as the Silver Surfer. It's clean yet still has a retro feel to it -- and is signed by Sinnott.

CATCH 'EM ALL!
The Item: Pokémon Emerald Version Nintendo Game Boy Advance - 2005 (CGC 9.6 A+ Sealed)
The Price: $3,200 after 20 bids (ends July 10)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is only 20 years old but it's perhaps indicative of some crossing streams of collecting and some overlooked realms where stuff that wasn't meant to be untouched and collected can be in big demand. These were meant to be used ... so those copies that are left untouched might be more sought-after than you might think. Part of the demand here? Coming from the video game crowd. Part of the demand here? Coming from Pokémon fans, of course. That's my take. What does Heritage say? "Pokémon Emerald Version is the definitive third entry in the Ruby and Sapphire era, refining the Hoenn adventure with new features and enhancements," read the description. "As the final mainline Pokémon game released for the Game Boy Advance, it holds special significance in the franchise's history. This beautifully preserved sealed copy is in excellent condition, making it a prized find for fans of this iconic classic."

START ME UP
The Item: The Rolling Stones 1965 Charlotte, N.C. Jumbo Globe Day-Glo Concert Poster
The Price: $31,000 after 26 bids (ends July 11)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: If the 1960s vibes don't grab you here, those colors might on this massive 21 by 30 inch restored piece from the David Swartz concert poster collection. "This is such a monster of a poster that we've been waiting years to offer one," read the auction listing. "This is not only the first time we've ever offered one in our 45 years, auction watchers tell us this will be the first public offering of this poster, ever. How's that for rarity?" Check out the eight-minute video at the link above for more looks and info on this one ... it's impressive.

A 1980s THROWBACK
The Item: Star Wars Return Of The Jedi Rancor graded AFA 80 (Kenner, 1984)
The Price: $350 after 12 bids (ends July 20)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This big-box toy was one that even Buzz owned back in the day -- but that box got busted open the minute we hit the car while in the store's parking lot. That box was more busted and discarded than anybody (other than Luke Skywalker, of course) ever banished to become a meal of this mighty monster. How many of these have survived unopened? Good question. There's still plenty of time to go in this one, so the price on this 1o-inch toy will likely grow before it's all said and done.

NEVERMIND
The Item: Nirvana (Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic) autographed 1991 promo photo (BAS letter authentication and stickered on back)
The Price: $7,250 after 43 bids (ends July 17)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: A Nirvana signed 1991 promo photo -- the same year as their arrival as pop culture legends with the album Nevermind -- is one that will definitely be in demand despite the visual appeal here. They all signed sideways with only their first names -- Cobain with his "Kurdt" sig and Novoselic with the Americanized spelling of his name he used back then instead of his legal name -- but the interest here is already apparent with this price and stout bidding volume with more than a week to go. How much potential is here? A sloppier copy of this same photo signed with two different ink colors sold via Heritage for $18,750 back in 2022.
