Aw, snap ... Mattel readies special Macho Man toy for SDCC

Legendary Slim Jim pitchman and WWE Hall of Famer "Macho Man" Randy Savage will have a place at this year's San Diego Comic Con as Mattel has a new toy planned for the wrestling legend.

The late star will be found in toy form at the event compete with toy beef snacks and wearing the colorful garb he wore during a series of memorable commercials in the 1990s.

It will be packaged similar to a Slim Jim store display and will be available in a limited fashion away from the show.

The figure will be available with a discount off of its $29.99 price at SDCC and will be up for pre-order at EntertainmentEarth later this month for a limited time. That hasn't stopped eBay sellers from asking between $75 and $99 -- and a few already have sold for more than $65.

Savage, the son of a pro wrestler, initially played minor league baseball for a few organizations in the 1970s but turned to the family business after suffering a shoulder injury. He went on to a top star for the WWE and WCW as part of a 30-plus-year career that included stints as world champ in both companies. He died of a heart attack at age 58 in 2011 and was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame with a speech given by his brother, "Leaping" Lanny Poffo, in 2015.
