Black Friday Wave 2 -- here are five deals to consider

If you hadn't noticed, our second wave of Black Friday boxes with discounted prices have dropped right now right here as BlowoutCards.com is bringing a wave approach to today's sales.

There are three more waves of discounted boxes to come later in today's big sale ... so keep watching.

Here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye in this first wave.

2019-20 Panini NBA Hoops hobby box
The big discount on this one is an opportunity to chase some of those big on-card autos of the big guy here, Zion Williamson, along with plenty of other autos as you get two per box. There isn't some kind of tiny limit on how many boxes you can grab here, either, so that helped make this one the lead-off spot for this new wave. Loading up on basic Rookie Cards from brands like this are better done now than later as flagship-style releases and their RCs are prime grading material and seemingly more popular than ever in recent years across the major sports. For many collectors who might have first dabbled in basketball cards with the arrival of Hoops back in 1989, this brand is a comfortable one. There's also plenty of insert action and other stuff to chase in here, too, beyond the guy on the box.

2019 Topps Series 1 MLB hobby box
Yes, Series 2 and Update definitely trump this one with the rookie potential but there's a ton of stuff to be found in this release with a hit in every box here, too, as well as some cards only found in this format. The price of this one gets it on the list -- with a limit of 12 (a case) in the big sale. Rare parallels and tough hits can command surprising amounts if you're lucky enough to land them as a lot of master set collectors always chase stuff here.

2003 Upper Deck SP Game Used golf hobby box
You get a hit in every pack here with ink in every box, too, and based on some numbers crunching you can land Tiger Woods autographs in every 12 boxes or so. There's a limit of six boxes (inner case) on this one so realistically you have a 50-50 shot there if you go by the case. That's just the big chase, though. Other auto-mem cards possible here include Natalie Gulbis, Lorena Ochoa, Annika Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez among the basic set while a number of multi-piece mem sets are in this one, too. Among the other auto-mem signers to be found? Arnold Palmer, Fred Couples, Craig Stadler, Sergio Garcia, Woods and plenty more. With golf not having many releases in recent years, landing notable names here might surprise you if you're ripping to sell.

2018-19 Panini Donruss Optic NBA blaster box
Optic or Prizm ... that's a debate that seems to be growing out there and, I'll tell you, I like the feel and delivery of Optic a little bit better -- and these boxes arriving here give you a tad cheaper shot at chasing some of the big Rookie Cards and ink for notables like Luka Doncic and Trae Young. (Oh and parallels, too.) Blasters don't give you a ton of volume but they do include stuff only found here -- so when you beat the odds and find some color or silver on a good name, it has potential to do well. (Besides, have you seen how much hobby and other formats are these days?)

2017 Panini Donruss NFL hanger box
There's a limit of 36 on this one, meaning you can grab a case if it strikes you on this one. Why? This particular format includes three Green parallels in every box and the Patrick Mahomes card alone has sold for $330 as a PSA 10 and $225 raw. Mahomes is the big one here but he's far from alone on the RC front. Like I said on my Hoops pick, slabbed flagship RCs have become go-t0 cards in recent years and you get plenty of basics here and a good amount of inserts, too. (I busted other formats of this release hard in the past but not the purple box, otherwise I'd drop some links here.)
