Black November arrives … and here are five deals to grab

If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now right here as Blowout Cards' Black November sales are here.

The first wave is here and many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz once again had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye ... and there's far more that just might suit your tastes in the big sale.

THE WEIRD ONE ... WITH BIG POTENTIAL
Ty Cobb Authentic Handwritten Relic box
If you've ever wanted an autograph of MLB legend Ty Cobb but can't afford it, you're not alone. However, these boxes are the home of cut autographs from him and every box has a cut card that showcases a piece of handwriting from the Hall of Famer but at a far lower price than you might expect. The presentation here is pretty solid -- see how it looks in a Buzz Break I did awhile back -- and I'm probably going to do another. LONG-SHOT MEGA-POTENTIAL
2018 Topps MLB Holiday Box
This box was once a Walmart-exclusive that had people clearing the shelves because of a few Rookie Cards here that have good potential overall and even more if you happen to land their parallels or their Relic or Autographed Relic versions. Overall, the basics here are not all that rare -- I, myself, own plenty -- but it's still a go-to for many reasons. The Ronald Acuña Jr. snowflaked version of his "bat down" RC is the iconic card here but the rookie crop is strong. Walker Buehler, Shohei Ohtani, Ozzie Albies, Gleyber Torres and so many others are here as RCs and then you can find ink for guys like Adrian Beltre, Anthony Rizzo, Bryce Harper, Jose Altuve, Juan Soto, Kris Bryant, Mike Trout, Albies, Acuña Jr., Ohtani and Buehler. You get one hit in every box here -- often just a Relic -- but other possibilities are in there. The parallels fall several times per box, too, but Acuña always eluded me there ... that's probably why this one is still on my mental radar. BIG POTENTIAL NOW ... AND LATER
2020 Leaf Metal U.S. Army All-American Bowl football hobby box
This one is available in a couple of formats -- all in the big sale -- and they are the home to big potential cards right now for college football fans and then for those who want to hold until it's time for the NFL Draft. Guys like Tua Tagovailoa, Trevor Lawrence, Derrick Henry and Ezekiel Elliott have been in these sets over the years and this year's version includes a number of guys who are playing on Saturdays right now and are likely to suit up on Sundays in the future. These boxes are nothing but hits and are a lot stronger design-wise now than in the past and depending on which format you choose you can land good rarity in volume. It's also a box Buzz has busted in recent months -- check out this break -- and I'm probably doing more.

CREATIVITY & PROSPECTING VOLUME
2020 Panini USA Baseball Stars & Stripes hobby box
This probably isn't the No. 1 pick for baseball prospectors out there in the big sale -- after all, there are 17 Bowman options out there in just the first wave -- but this one will have a mix of basics, on-card autos and potential premium auto-patch creations in every single pack and with top draft picks from this year as well as past years all in the same place. There are even notables from Japan's Collegiate All-Stars Team here with patch autos that can sell well, too. Top picks Spencer Torkelson, Heston Kjerstad, Max Meyer, Asa Lacy and Austin Martin are all over this one -- those guys were the first five picks in this year's draft -- and they are not alone. Sure, USA stuff won't return as much cash as Chrome prospect autos but you cab build a roster of the top names here a lot easier and you can afford to buy boxes in more volume have have more to dabble with, too, as players here will be in future drafts as well as in the minors in the future. I need to dig in here, too. (I used to do a lot of USA stuff in the past but preferred the team set with hits atop that approach ... not as much of a worry about these boxes at this price. I really should have ordered before I wrote this one. This is likely in my cart ASAP.)

DON'T FORGET THIS ZION ...
2019-20 Panini NBA Sticker and Card Collection box
There's a part of the name of this one that many people overlooked but it's a big deal with Zion Williamson in the mix on stickers and cards here. He has a standard sticker, a standard card and then three parallels (two serial-numbered) of said card. A decade from now, what might be his most-obscure and tougher-to-find cards from 2019-20 NBA releases? It might -- might -- be this one that has to be a bit off the radar. Meanwhile, slabbed copies of his stuff here might surprise you over on eBay completeds -- and I think those are the key here ... and it'd even better if you land a parallel. Statistically you get half of the 100-card set here (if collation is perfect) and about the same for the stickers. If the collation is streaky (I have no idea ... I didn't ever grab any but should have) then you might have a winning box out there (or it could sting) but either way this one seems interesting considering the price and volume of what's inside.
