Black November arrives … and here are five deals to grab

If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now right here as Blowout Cards' Black November sales have arrived this year.

The first wave is here and many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz once again had to ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five that caught this collector’s eye ... and there's far more that just might suit your tastes in the big sale.

A FORGOTTEN ONE?

Maybe it's just because I never ripped this one -- or, heck, even saw it -- last year, but this box with a pretty big discount feels like it needs to be here as you should get a number of parallel cards in every one and there's a decent shot at key names being among them as it's only a 200-card set. I recently grabbed the one basic RC I wanted to land here but there are parallels and even autographs in play here as ell as a mix of UK Icons inserts also with parallels. With 240 cards in a box if the collation is clean you should come pretty close at landing a good chunk of it all. This one's in my cart as I type ... I need to scout even more after I finish this piece.

THE LOW-RISK RIPPING ...
2017 Topps WWE Then, Now, Forever fat pack
Want a low-risk rip? Well, these sub-$5 packs can include some big things though one might scoff at the idea of retail wrestling. But hits do drop a number of times per case here (108 packs) with everything in play -- autos, relics, plates, kiss cards and even photo variations if I remember correctly. If you don't find those, there are parallels that are numbered in play along with all of the basics. On the auto checklist in this one? Triple H and Stephanie McMahon on rarer pulls and then a crop that includes a ton of younger names and big names -- Braun Strowman, Bray Wyatt, Sasha Banks, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Kurt Angle, Becky Lynch, Shinsuke Nakamura, Aleister Black, Drew McIntyre, Ruby Riott and even Lex Luger. (And others.) Kiss Cards include Alexa Bliss, Lynch, Asuka, Charlotte Flair, Liv Morgan, Ember Moon, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce ... and even more on the auto versions. A lot of 10 packs here, or maybe 20, could deliver better than you might think. If not, it's simply a lot of cardboard -- and that might get you a base set or some good volume on everything.

CHASE THE BIG FISH (AND MORE)

Want a chase with a little bit of safety? This is one to ponder as there are huge things possible but admittedly a lot to wade through to land them. An early Mike Trout card and autographs are possible here -- switch to completeds for a good idea of how the demand looks for Trout. It's not bad considering the box price here. I've ripped a few but didn't land anything big -- but you never know how the Cardboard Gods will treat you on any given day. There are a ton of bigger names to be found here but they are in lower volumes vs. rookies and young stars here ... ink from Trout, Buster Posey, Chipper Jones, Clayton Kershaw, David Ortiz, Mariano Rivera, Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose, Ken Griffey Jr., Ernie Banks, Tony Gwynn and many more are in there.

VOLUME ... AND NAMES
2015 Panini USA Baseball set 10-box case
With a lot of big-name rookies in other sports driving up even the most basic of boxes, this one -- admittedly one of my go-to brands at times -- jumped out as this case price is a lot more on the affordable side than a lot of boxes in the years since this one dropped. You get 10 hits per set here -- 100 per case -- and there are some names of note to be found. Among them? Bobby Dalbec, Ian Anderson, A.J. Puk, Hunter Greene, Triston Casas, Anthony Volpe, Tanner Houck, Brendan McKay and a bunch of others who might pop up later. There are multiple  types of hits to be found and some creative cardboard. Will a lot of guys not have made it? Sure, but 100 hits in a case at this price it's still pretty decent compared to a lot of the small boxes being gobbled up by flippers. A Dalbec auto /49 from this, for example, sold for $95 on eBay while his more basic stuff can be around $30. A rare one? Pays for a good chunk here and he's not alone. The volume offers safety over time, too, and with players here on the 15U team now in MiLB the door's not totally closed. It's not the absolute best year here, but the price works for the volume.

DON'T FORGET THE ROOKIE CARDS ...
2019-20 Panini NBA Sticker and Card Collection box
This one actually made this list last year -- and it's here again. Why? Well, there's a part of the name of this one that many people overlooked but it's a big deal with Ja Morant and Zion Williamson in the mix on stickers and cards here. Williamson, for example, has a standard sticker, a standard card and then three parallels (two serial-numbered) of said card. A decade from now, what might be his most-obscure and tougher-to-find cards from 2019-20 NBA releases? It might -- might -- be this one that has to be a bit off the radar. Meanwhile, slabbed copies of his stuff here might surprise you over on eBay completeds -- and I think those are the key here ... and it'd even better if you land a parallel. Statistically you get half of the 100-card set here (if collation is perfect) and about the same for the stickers. If the collation is streaky (I have no idea ... I didn't ever grab any but should have) then you might have a winning box out there (or it could sting) but either way this one seems interesting considering the price and volume of what's inside.
