What's Buzz-worthy: This was a low-risk, high-reward scenario in my mind when I spotted these on sale -- about $50 -- this last year (yep, last year) but the results were along the lines of those posted odds so I let things sit. Why? I was hoping for the odds-defying win that would have yielded a hit ... but not this time. What I did find was a lot of warped packs and roughed-up stuff -- it can happen with retail returns that end up tossed into bins -- but it was still worth the shot as hobby boxes here are not as easily found these days (or that cheap, considering their typical inclusions) so I tried. (Here's where I opened one years ago and did very well.) The retail odds are more longshot -- one in 1,365 for autos, one in 480 for memorabilia -- so it's no surprise that these are still around. I might even try again if the price was right but this one was a bummer. However, had I beat the odds? Big win.

Lot Grade: C- (weird collation in this lot -- though that should be expected with loosies)
Fun Grade: C- (a lot of warped packs -- also to be expected to a degree with retail returns)
