What's Buzz-worthy: This one was a thrift store pick-up for Buzz (blame somebody else if you don't like it ... they bought it and I've literally had it sitting on my desk for months to get into a marathon) but this one really didn't turn out that bad if you remember how hot some of the cards were in this one back then. Now? You can find a factory set (or a box like this) for less than $10 despite the fun stuff that's still inside these Metrodome-wall-inspired, baggie-like packs. Finding stamping inside the lid that reads "26NOV271989" was interesting -- it immediately had me thinking "errors?" and there were some, just not the biggest one. Errors and variations were a huge deal from 1988 to about 1991 -- a very big chase back then -- and in this one the biggie is the Ryne Sandberg highlight card that errantly has his position listed on the front when it shouldn't. (I'd argue it's the toughest error to find but it can be had for a few bucks. It wasn't found in this box to know which one I'd get.) This box included a number of error cards (12) where small mistakes or typos were later fixed on the card backs, but, more importantly, it included at least a couple copies of a few of the iconic cards in this set that could have easily paid for the box back in the day. Why rip this? Well, besides some fresh nostalgia there could be money made if your key cards come back in strong grade -- people still know the power of that Bo card today. Realistically, busting an un-dropped factory set might be your best (guaranteed) shot at a well-centered and clean Bo Knows card. It's very hit and miss in the baggies and the trivia cards can cause surface damage to the white-border cards in the middle. That Bo? It's one I'd want in high-grade and it's been slabbed 432 times by BGS and only six BGS 10s exist (zero perfect BGS Black copies).
