What's Buzz-worthy: Take the sports and pop culture catch-all that's Americana and limit it to just one country, Canada, and that's what you have here. This one is a unique creation in that its hits -- three per box -- include a number of big names, while the base set drills down on the historical figures that might not be household names beyond Canada's borders. These cards arrive in a slider case in a tray inside the box, so once you pop the lid you'll know how it starts -- and this one, as seen above, started very well with the William Shatner autograph as the first card seen. And, even better? It's the version showing him in his Star Trek uniform. After that, it included a jumbo memorabilia card from an iconic Canadian recently in the headlines, Margot Kidder aka Lois Lane, and a second autograph. The base cards in this box weren't nearly as flashy, but it's all good after the first two hits. Among the other possibilities here for autographs and memorabilia include Pamela Anderson, Trish Stratus, Steve Nash, Donald Sutherland, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Shania Twain, Don Cherry, Larry Walker, "Mad Dog" Vachon, Steve Yzerman, Jacques Villeneuve and Jean Beliveau to name a few. ... There are plenty of other names you may or may not know here among the signers and even more in a base set that seems wide in scope for 100 cards. This one is worth a rip if you like some serious surprise potential, though singles and base sets are in a lot of cases (but not all) much easier to find than wax boxes. If you can find these boxes modestly priced (under $50) then they're definitely worth considering, though they may not all deliver as well as this one did. (Thanks, Captain Kirk.)
