What's Buzz-worthy: Remember this one? You probably don't as it was a one-and-done creation. It's got a lot of solid touches on card fronts and decent info at times on the card backs, but its wrapper details aren't that plentiful and the website that did have info is gone. So there's some mystery here. There were announced plans for new waves of this one each quarter in 2012 but it didn't apparently go platinum and they never happened. PL's trademarks are dead and not maintained -- and there are ultimately no details about what's to be found inside this one. There is a sweepstakes cards in every pack with codes to be entered online. They were dead seven years ago and with them gone are prizes that "range from new cars to Rolex watches, cash to apparel, ring tones to screen-savers to backstage passes." The cards? They don't have actual numbers but the fronts are varied but with a frame of text on the sides.There are autographs but I've got no idea who signed. This was originally billed as a 100-card set though that seems to be lowered in reality -- and I didn't pull perhaps the biggest living name, Snoop Dogg. (You might see one or two of these graded here at some point ... just for fun ... and he might have been one of them had I pulled him.) What do I remember from this one's arrival? The price was higher than other packs alongside it at Walmart, Target and other typical card stops where these were found, so I didn't buy a single pack back then (like $5 or $6 apiece if I remember correctly). Meanwhile, I found this box for about the price of a discounted blaster. I'll be the first to admit I knew just a handful of names in this one, but I was surprised to land an autograph. The serial-numbered card noted above is a bit of a mystery ... there was no mention of inserts, parallels or even ink when this one was announced. I kind of want to rip into one more box just to see how it compares ... and to land that Snoop.
