What's Buzz-worthy: Not a bad box for the price in terms of some names and some rarity, though the points were initially a bummer. My rare autos has one of its other counterparts on eBay with a $35 asking price, so that doesn't seem that bad. A Robles and McKay sighting don't hurt, either, though this box didn't overwhelm me. (At original price I probably would have been unhappy.) ... As said before, these boxes were in the big sale at a relatively affordable price (not much more than a blaster) and they literally include nothing but hits and serial-numbered cards of prospects. The only cards you're likely to get that aren't numbered are standard autos as the base cards here are all limited to only 999 copies. The set includes a number of notables from last year's draft and other prospects of note -- a crop that includes Royce Lewis, MacKenzie Gore, Brendan McKay, Jo Adell, Jake Burger, Alex Faedo and perhaps most notably the reigning National League Rookie of the Year, Ronald Acuña Jr. There's a wide array of stuff in this one and if you do the math based on this box it might take you 50 boxes to find any particular player on base cards alone. But when you land a solid card you might find that there aren't a lot of others out there, so you could get more for your guy if there's demand. (And, with the boxes being cheaper, that's OK for me.) There are a lot of prospect releases out there so some of these guys have a lot of cardboard, but there are guys from the Dominican Prospect League who are only found here and can pay off later. Could these boxes pay off over time? Only time will tell -- but some will deliver big names right now and that makes it time to rip on these since they're affordable. Hobby boxes deliver about double what these do hits-wise, so if you're comfortable with the look and feel here, that route is perhaps your best option at chasing notables -- see them both at the link above.
