What's Buzz-worthy: This inaugural release of a product line that's already had a few sequels is one that piqued my curiosity since the beginning but I've waited on sale prices on boxes to kick in to try one. This one delivered pretty well with the guaranteed memorabilia card -- a piece cut from a document signed by John Hancock -- and then a printing plate atop that. These packs are essentially mini envelopes with a team-bagged pack inside and they're best bought by the box as the adhesive for these packs can be found popped off inside the boxes. (You wouldn't have to tear the pull tabs to see what's in them.) The basic set is pretty large given the format and it includes presidents, signers of the Declaration of Independence and then historic Americans. The feel of these cards is very unique -- almost a leather feel to them -- with thick stock that has two colors on the edges. A very deluxe feel. Among the potential finds here are printing plates, the relics, cut autographs, Precious Parallels with gems or metal inlays, stamp cards, parallels and other short-prints. There are potential relics with writing or other printing on them that can add to the appeal or the value if you don't land a top name. Hancock is a pricey document (as much as $8,500 for them in one search I made), so this plain swatch of what looks like a linen document is still one that's better than the norm. Another cool touch here? You can see the full document on the back of the card and a larger image of it on the company's website (this one added to gallery below). The printing plates come sleeved in the packs and it looks like some of the ink from use or coloring of the plates can stick to the sleeve. (A bit of a drawback that I solved by putting the plate into a magnetic instead of a sleeve and toploader.) This box can be topped but it still felt pretty strong -- strong enough for me to grab another at some point.
