Buzz 12 in 12: Busting a 1983 Topps The A-Team wax pack (Hour 11)

Autographs/Memorabilia: Um, no.

What's Buzz-worthy: This one seemed like a good idea because Little Buzz was all about watching this show back in the day -- and probably bought a pack or two of these -- but the number of car cards in this pack wasn't that thrilling. In fact, it was a bummer and the scene when opening wrapper above seems apropos. The characters and personalities of The A-Team made a simple show work and you got a glimpse of that here, but crashed cars -- yes, a staple of the show -- just don't make for entertaining cardboard. This pack had five car cards -- and a checklist. (I pity the fool opening that pack the next time.) This is a tiny set -- just 66 cards and 12 stickers -- and it's right in the Topps non-sport wheelhouse of the time. It just felt as flat as one of the tires on those wrecks based on this one pack. I should implement a new 12 in 12 rule to buy a couple packs to avoid duds on the old stuff. I'm sure this set is better than what I see here, but, then again, I haven't watched any old episodes of the TV show lately -- and I liked the recent movie reboot that bombed at the box office. Maybe it's just me!
