Buzz 12 in 12: Busting a 1984 O-Pee-Chee baseball wax pack (Hour 10)

What's Buzz-worthy: One card is the big chase here -- a Canadian version of Don Mattingly's Rookie Card -- while Darryl Strawberry's first regular-issue (not Topps Traded) card is here, too, along with cards of 1980s stars such as Cal Ripken Jr., Robin Yount, Wade Boggs, Paul Molitor and many others. This is not a direct parallel of the Topps set -- that one has the usual 792 cards for the time -- and this one has a few more Expos and Blue Jays players in the mix. This particular pack included a pair of established big-league arms in Jeff Reardon and Charlie Hough, but the only real highlight (and it'd not that great) is a card of Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk. You don't see O-Pee-Chee as often as standard Topps packs, so they're worth a quick rip just for the surprise potential. The printing and cutting here was very clean for O-Pee-Chee standards, but most of the cards were badly centered top-to-bottom. If you can land a clean Mattingly or other key player, these might be worth grading consideration. They won't be huge money-makers but they're definitely more unique than standard Topps.
