Buzz 12 in 12: Busting a 1988 Hygrade Baseball Grab Bag retail repack (Hour 12)

What's Buzz-worthy: You may have seen a closer look at some of these Topps releases from the 1980s as Buzz picked up a couple of these oldschool repacks recently simply because of the oddities found inside. (They're ultimately the same packs in most of these repacks -- see the links above for the other Buzz Breaks.) This was a repack from Hygrade released in 1988 (based on the newest cards inside) and they're ones I remembered finding at KB Toys alongside pegs of Starting Lineup toys and other discounted card packages back in the day. Even then, the oddball packs in these stood out -- I think they were the only place where I found them since I didn't have a card shop to hit regularly back then -- and there are some solid names to be found. Rather than break down each of the packs' contents, you can see everything pulled from them in the gallery below. The throw-in cards were highlighted by the couple you see there but were otherwise very lackluster commons. Would I do more of these? Probably not -- I'd just buy some of the packs in boxes or lots if I felt the need. (It worked well for some breaks here.)
