What's Buzz-worthy: It's been years, if not decades, since I ripped a fully hobby box of Garbage Pail Kids cards, but the concept of mocking the music world was what drew me in. I passed on a pricier Collectors Edition box that guaranteed a hit of some type every time for this one, which included shots at printing plates, artist autos and sketch cards at tougher odds than one per box. None landed here, but I did get a Fool's Gold parallel that falls one in every 98 packs. I had high expectations here and those were satisfied in a few of the subsets that ultimately make up the basic set here. It's a selection of 21 Pop stickers (with each having an A and B version), 20 Classic Rock, nine Hard Rock, 10 Metal, 10 New Wave & Punk, 10 Alternative and 10 Rap and R&B cards to collect 'em all. Like Ray Gun way back in 1985, it's the parody cards that have obvious subjects that I like the best and there are a number of them in this set that are memorable and quirky enough I'd want them in a graded card slab just for fun.
