What's Buzz-worthy: This is my third box of these -- and I still think I did pretty well with a couple of the names I found and it turns out the one I didn't has had a pretty lengthy career, too, that I just missed. For the sale price of less than $10 a card (for now), it was a decent little break largely helped by the fact that these simply feel like "more" with their slabbed format. As said before, if you've never pulled a 1/1 card, this is one for you -- and you get three per box. These are the proof cards used before Leaf Trading Cards' latest Pop Century product was printed and the cards were signed. ... It appears there are standard Metal, Black, Blue, Gold, Super Gold, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple and Red versions for the one type of cards. It's unclear how the clear proofs work, but they have colors to chase, too. ... What I think could help this one would be adding just a single auto from the product -- perhaps a special color but I'm not picky -- that might spark some speculative buying beyond those who are curious about it like I was. ... Some of these proofs could have strong demand based on who you find, while others might not break the bank. These are Leaf-specific slabs and about the only drawback on these is that there's not a sleeve inside the slab. ... There are a number of stars here who would pay for a box or two based on recent eBay sales and it seems there might be a better up-side here for celebs vs. sports stars. There's no ink here but they're still fun additions on the cheap. Would I pay much more? Probably not -- at least not without an auto involved -- but I think this format works for this price.
