What's Buzz-worthy: I'll admit I didn't even know this one existed (busy in school at the time and not looking for basketball hobby boxes) when I recently stumbled upon it for not much more than a blaster box despite there being three autos guaranteed inside along with a signed item (albeit possibly a 19-year-old expired redemption). When you pop the lid here, you see a stack of packs surrounded by Styrofoam and then between that and a second layer is where a signed photo likely resides. This one included a not-so-flashy photo of a guy who went in the second round but did manage to get limited time in the league for nearly a decade with seven teams. The product is simple -- a 45-card set, a 45-card parallel set, a few inserts and the autos. My ink here definitely could have been worse as a Baron Davis auto is good enough to get an A grade out of me. Other autos possible on cards here include Francis, Szczerbiak, Brand, Odom, Hamilton, Artest and a ton of other guys not as remembered. The only thing I didn't pull here is a gold-foil auto -- the rest of what you see here represents the entire lineup. One other possibility? Hot Boxes with five signed memorabilia pieces instead of just one. (Items via redemption included jerseys, basketballs, mini balls and photos.) All in all, I could have done worse here but the price was right. At its original price these could be rough ... at least these days. Prices on single autos here are generally pretty cheap for even the big pulls here so the box price is about right or could even be seen as a tad risky. If I found another, though, I'd probably rip it.
