What's Buzz-worthy: One card made this one a pack to rip once I saw it -- Tom Brady's Rookie Cards can be found here, though they're not realistically pulled from out of even a box, let alone one pack. He's one of 100 rookies in this one to have serial-numbered RCs -- just 1,325 of each made. I was a light buyer of NFL back then -- lo0king for a different rookie -- but I'm not sure I ever ran into these in jumbo form. This particular pack included a numbered card and not much else -- check out the gallery. RCs of note here beyond Brady include Brian Urlacher, Peter Warrick, Jamal Lewis, Ron Dayne, Shaun Alexander and Chad Pennington ... and most of those were far bigger deals then than now. I'm not sure I'll ever rip into a box of this one -- last I checked a box had an eBay opening price of $649 -- and even single packs have $49 asking prices on eBay. (Uh ... nope!) But I like the basic design here and I really like the Gridiron Kings sets, too. Raid the singles for what you want and pony up for the big stuff you want if those cards presents themselves. Ripping a pack like this might fall more into the "just to say I did it" realm even at just $20. Revisiting boxes from the last 25 years or so won't be getting easier as time goes on, either, as there's simply far less of it to go around than the 25 that came before them.
