What's Buzz-worthy: From time to time I like to pick up an older box (typically blaster) just to see if a brand has held up over time and to see how it compares to now, whether it's a brand I busted a lot or didn't. This one, thanks to the hit and two short-prints, delivered very well. Without them? It hasn't aged well at all to me. Key cards from key guys in key brands will inevitably pick up steam in the future and this Trout is one of them. It pays for the box and that's all that one could hope for, really, from a brand that does have the big stuff inside -- just not in every box. The 1960s are easily my favorite decade for past Topps and for Heritage, though this one isn't atop my list. If every box was like this one, it would be. Check out the High Number hobby boxes at the link above -- while the base set can be dry, the possible autographs (albeit rare for the best ones) is stacked. Trout? He's among them along with many others.
