What's Buzz-worthy: These promo packs were available at Lids stores back in 2016 as bonuses when you buy an MLB cap and I happened upon a box of these and figured I'd give them a try as I never saw them in the wild back when the promo was active. Auction asking prices for these packs can be far steeper than they should be -- perhaps a reason they can still be found -- because the odds are brutal. One in 423 packs for a Blue parallel base card. One in 1,673 for a Green. One in 40,000 for a Red. Other potential finds include Relics (/99) at one in 423, a 1/1 Team Relic parallel one in 40,000 (cap logo?), a 1/1 MLB logo Relic (back logo?) parallel one in 40,000 and 1/1 auto Relic cards one in 55,000. While hit packs included just one or two cards, I'd expect Relics stood out in these so the odds of one still being found in unopened packs might be slim unless you can find them in a clean 100-card box (unsealed) that they came in. The good news for me was that I landed an insert but I didn't find the odds before I bought. All in all, this one felt like it was closer to a dud break because of the odds but I beat them and I like that this promotion happened. here's hoping they try it more often.
