What's Buzz-worthy: These boxes are super-cheap for their potential, though I'm not sure how scarce the cut autographs might be in this one -- either way, they present some serious oddities and some weird cardboard ... so that's why I keep dabbling here and there when they are blaster priced. This time, I get a little more modern with the basics and insert and then the hits were all in line with what is to be found here, though not as exactly as the box notes. This time, I landed something odd -- a piece of a document signed by a European king, a piece of a political pennant made to support Jimmy Carter (my first time finding something that wasn't a document clipping) and then a new clipping for a name we've heard in the news countless times the last few years. Is anything a big-money find here? No, not really, but that's not the point here. This is one for the fan of historical stuff with a huge base set (those cards are from the original 2017 release) and then some oddball mem cards to draw people in ... those are what get me. They're weird ... and can be weirder than these at times. I prefer the possibilities of the Pieces of The Past Relics, which in previous releases were swatches from autographed documents. The first Pieces of The Past release was in mini-envelope packs with a hit per box, while the second release I opened included a larger volume of base cards and a hit (not in packs). This one puts more emphasis on the hits with lesser base presence with the small stack of cards placed loose in the box. It's evolved and changed and, for affordable novelty, this is a brand that can pique my interest.
