Autographs/Memorabilia: Not for a couple decades

What's Buzz-worthy: If you're a certain age -- one to remember the first few years of MTV and the arrival of pro wrestling's evolution with the WWF and WrestleMania -- then you might remember just how big Cyndi Lauper was. This set is one of the ways you can know how big and it might be one you might not be aware of as it's definitely not as plentiful as some other sets from this timeframe. One potential reason? These cards are glossy and on bright white stock -- not the norm -- and they include three stickers per pack instead of just one, which also is not the norm. (They likely cost a little more to make, too.) The set leads off with a nod to her wrestling tie-ins and even had a card showing her with Hulk Hogan and then WWF women's champ Wendi Richter. Ironically, I didn't even know about those cards when I tracked this pack down -- I just thought it would be different to see here. This particular pack included a run of stickers from one of two formats in the set and three cards with a similar look, two performing and one from the video for "She Bop." (That video is below for posterity and it, too, has a few wrestling cameos.) These sets aren't that easy to find completed and building from packs may be a challenge with at least one card having wax stains (the gloss helps you rub it off a little but you can still tell it was there). Interestingly, it appears not a single card from this set has been graded by either PSA or BGS -- not even by the diehard wrestling collectors out there. From Here, Lauper has gone on to sell more than 50 million albums and even had one last year. No card sets, though.
