What's Buzz-worthy: My next-to-last dip into my rack pack stash -- at about $1.40 a pack -- here for a #TBT break yielded, well, not that much by the standards for this release. Sure, there are a few Hall of Famers and a bunch of Rookie Cards who are basically commons but nothing that's key to this one today, which can happen in a set with nearly 800 cards and decades later. ... These 36-year-old packs aren't rare -- stuff was made by the truckload for months -- but it's still good for what it is -- or as a reminder that the card world has changed a lot since then. Back then Topps basically put out one main set a year and then an update to it and various smaller boxed sets here and there for the year. That meant plenty of these got made between wax packs, rack packs, cello packs, jumbo packs, vending boxes and factory sets. You can pretty much still find it in all of those formats unopened. Sometimes they're worth the cheap rip for the heck of it.
Product Grade: A- (wood borders remain unique and list of RCs/Hall of Famers in this is stacked)
Lot Grade: B- (some good names for back then but not now)
Fun Grade: B (some good names but times have definitely changed)
