What's Buzz-worthy: Pro Set is perhaps best known for its football cards -- NFL cards -- from 1989 to 1992 but the Dallas, Texas-based company dabbled in almost everything during its days of billion-dollar sales. It didn't last. Among its other sets? This "gem" that can be found in wax-box form for $5 or less today. Who are the big names here? Got me -- but it's World Cup season -- but there's one "big" card in my mind here. That's No. 194 of Sheffield United's Vinny Jones. You may know him as Vinnie Jones or Juggernaut in X-Men: The Last Stand or Brick Brickwell in Arrow, or The Sphinx in Gone in 60 Seconds or Bullet-Tooth Tony in Snatch or ... a ton of other roles in a ton of other movies. These packs were among a large lot thrown in a bulk lot of junk wax but I picked just five to rip here. More than five would be torture to both of us -- and the Jones is the only goal card in my book. (For the record for the diehards, these packs included corrections, not errors, for the few cards with issues.) This was the only Jones card I pulled -- with the famously chippy Pro Set cutting (I'd totally want a high-grade copy of this card) and a sampling of others is in the gallery below.
