What's Buzz-worthy: Buzz is dipping deep into the archives on this quiet afternoon for a Flashback Friday break -- a MiLB set that, in its time, was considered one of the best of the year but one that clearly hasn't aged all that well. This full-bleed, thin-stock glossy release is one of a number found in pack form back then -- even for minor-league baseball -- and it delivered between three and six cards for the notables you'll see below (a couple aren't all that notable). There are just two Hall of Famers here -- Frank Thomas and Jeff Bagwell -- with Thomas on a couple of cards (I found both four times in three boxes, though one was crimped) and Bagwell in a Red Sox uniform -- he doesn't have a ton of those. I offer up only the top names in the gallery (saving time and, frankly, I ripped these so long ago and wasn't that impressed ... so I don't know where I put the rest). My fourth box that I didn't open (that's a rare thing) had an extra pack in it so that solo pack is at the end of the gallery ... it was brutal. I never opened a single box of these back in the day -- never saw them -- but I did get to open all of the CMC and ProCards stuff back then. I found these boxes on the cheaper side of things -- under $20 a pop -- and grabbed since I hadn't ever done them before. Not sure I'd do it again but I wouldn't mind a couple of those key names in slabs. Asking prices on these boxes can be steep but I'd just do singles.
