What's Buzz-worthy: For #TBT this time, I went with a super-quick pair of packs from a junk repack lot I picked up long ago and I only kept these around since there's a little bit of star power for this film based on the popular video game series. I doubt my two packs do it justice, but it is reflective of a simpler and cheaper time for collectors -- and a lack of chase here is probably why I didn't bite back in the day to have some of these in my stash all these years. The lineup is simple -- 90 cards via four subsets, which are the movie itself, Street Fighter Superstars, Streetfighters and Behind The Scenes. Beyond that, there are a dozen foil Special F/X inserts (one in eight packs) like one I landed here, an Animation Card (same odds), a rarer Jean-Claude Van Damme hologram card (one in 100 packs) and then promos. The only other option? A factory set reportedly limited to only 300 copies. Among the cast members? Van Damme, of course, but he's joined by Raul Julia, Ming-Na Wen, Kylie Minogue and others. Some are names you should know from elsewhere now, too. There are some interesting (way high) asking prices out there for some of those cards as well as unopened packs and boxes on eBay. I'm not sure it's worth it unless you're wanting the key names in slabs ... but I see the appeal there and I think the video game fans are also grabbing these in some segments, too. A search for "Street Fighter Pyramid" seems to yield the normally-priced copies out there in the eBay wild, by the way, if you're curious. I wasn't all that thrilled when I found these, but I think there are a couple singles I might chase after having examined the checklist more closely. The only challenge after finding some of these will be conditions as the foil-baggie-style wrappers aren't all that protective here for cards that are on softer, high-gloss stock of that time.

Lot Grade: B+ (I got an insert but I feel I missed on some of the best base subjects)
Fun Grade: C (ripping more, if affordable, would yield better results)
