What's Buzz-worthy: I've ripped plenty of Pro Line boxes through the years -- this one turns 30 next year -- but two autos in a box (an over-delivering box) is not something I've seen before. Granted, this is the first full box of this year that I have ever opened -- after all, only 150,000 standard boxes were made -- and it delivered well on that front as well as having a meaty clean boatload of base stuff that looks just as clean and perfect as it did on printing day. Why did I sleeve so many cards here? It's a box of 10 candidates for grading ... something that's not a given years later with all the gloss and thin stock used here. I landed this for not much more than $1 a pack and I grabbed it to rip it for sure ... even though boxes like this have to be on the rarer side of things and can sell for more and would be a safe hold. I don't have a definite favorite card here -- there are some nice ones -- but I do think I like the mix of oddball portraits in there, too, when to comes to Pro Line in previous years. What might I grade for the fun of it? We'll see in the coming months. With prices coming down and speeds picking up, stuff like this is a lot more grading-friendly if they are as clean as what I found here. This one jettisons the portrait cards that were used in part of the release the year before this and extensively in 1991 and 1992 and this one might be close to the pinnacle of Pro Line sets from the era. It's clean, it's colorful, it's packed with now Hall of Famers and stars and it's one of the sets that can help define its time.

Box Grade: A+ (they aren't big autos now but I've never landed a two-auto box in Pro Line for any year)
Fun Grade: B+ (light on inserts but that was common then ... and it's hard to beat an extra auto at any price.)
