What's Buzz-worthy: For this Throwback Thursday, I go a little uptown -- at least in terms of product importance and price right now with this key release for in-pack WWE cards from its "Attitude Era." Why? This one is the home of "Rookie Cards" for The Rock, Chyna The Rock, Edge, Mankind and so many others ... in fact, a number of them here are but since there's plenty of gaming and other oddball sets I didn't bother to wade through all that to confirm the others. (More here are RCs than not.) Way more important than that, though? Autographs here are one in 100 packs ... and the list is loaded with The Rock (his only WWE auto), Chyna, Road Warrior Hawk, Owen Hart, Sable, Mankind and others. The best part here? I found these packs for just $3 total ... I'll take that shot. Especially when eBay asking prices are between $55 and $75 ... per pack. ... What did I land? Arguably the best team card here with that D-X card and the Chyna RC ... those alone make this one one a win for the price, though soft chippy stock probably nixes any grading visions for at least one of those. ... This set was one of a few from Comic Images before Fleer got the license in 2001 and it was the first for Comic Images/DuoCards. The backs of these cards are text-heavy and a bit cliche in their design, but the full-bleed photography on the fronts carry things well ... but I'd still rather have a name line on fronts. The autos are some stiff cash here but clean higher-grade slabs can be good, too, for key names. I got myself a super-cheap shot at all of them with this throwback.
