What's Buzz-worthy: For #TBT this time, I went with a super-quick pair of packs from a junk repack lot I picked up long ago. It was so rough that only a couple brands from this one would even be worthy here -- and this one might be a stretch but at least it's newer with some good potential. This one isn't some landmark set but it does have some good chases from late in the life of Pacific Trading Cards, a former major company (trademarks now owned by Panini) that once held MLB and NFL card licenses among other things. This one has a 72-card base set, a movie set (the film had Jennifer Love Hewitt in the cast and she has cards here), the stickers and then parallels where a paw print stamp is added. The big chase? Garfield creator Jim Davis signed 500 cards that were randomly placed into packs and also did a limited number of sketch cards, too. When Pacific went away I remembered finding full boxes of this one at Walmarts for $10 or less and opened a few with hopes for the ink but never landed one ... they aren't that easy but they could still be in there. Sealed boxes here are pretty strong in terms of asking prices and sales prices (though not as high) these days, likely because they got ripped for the most part and the overall production here was likely not that massive.
Product Grade: A- (chase elements save this one)
Lot Grade: B+ (see below)
Fun Grade: B- (Davis card is a better basic card to me)
