What's Buzz-worthy: If you don't remember these, don't worry, they didn't last long -- more for trademark/patent reasons if I remember correctly -- in the U.S. market. This is a simple starter kit that you can find on the cheap and since it's a pretty deep checklist I figured I'd bust one here to remind us of what this one included. (It's actually not a lot save for that deep checklist.) You get two foil parallels here -- I think it's actually Jeter and Pujols in this one more times than its not -- and then a game-card for the short-lived ToppsTown experience and a selection of cards from the main set. This one included both corrections (I think they are corrections) of the only two cards that have photo variations for whatever reason and they're noted above. Among notables I didn't find here on base cards are Clayton Kershaw, David Ortiz, Derek Jeter, Hideki Matsui, Ichiro Suzuki, Jim Thome, Joey Votto, Justin Verlander, Mariano Rivera, Max Scherzer, Miguel Cabrera, Giancarlo Stanton, Roy Halladay, Stephen Strasburg, Tim Hudson, Todd Helton, Vladimir Guerrero and more mascots and stadiums. There are no rookies -- imagine what might have been -- but there's enough here for a basic collecting project on the cheap if you wanted to build with the challenge being the 258-card foils that you'd have to chase in a different format.
