What's Buzz-worthy: This isn't new but as the clock winds down on 2021 I figured I'd finally throw out this classiest of all Buzz Breaks. Why? Well, I picked one of these packs up on the cheap recently after a weekend movie binge and wanted to revisit this again -- and you might be able to flip these, too. What is it? It's a simple set of cards in the 2013 "Rich Mahogany Edition" re-issue DVD set for the 2004 Will Ferrell comedy Anchorman. Every sealed DVD for that one (as seen above) included this set which was made my MiLB card-maker Choice as part of the package. Just like the set I got with my DVD back in the day -- probably the reason I tried this again -- pretty much every card I landed here had centering issues. (That's a bummer as I'd totally grade a few of these cards but not unrealistic as the retro-styled, dark-stock cards have somewhat narrow borders.) They are officially the only official cardboard made for this one, which also had a sequel in the year these arrived. (No special cards there that I know of.) The star power here is strong but you can find many of the actors on cardboard elsewhere -- but "Character Rookie Cards" are totally happening here. Besides Farrell, the set includes news teamers Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Fred Willard and then their rivals, who were played by Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, Tim Robbins and Ben Stiller. There's also a Jack Black appearance and a card for 1970s TV star Chad Everett who plays Ron Burgundy's mentor, Jess Moondragon. I'll withhold any spoilers or witty lines here and just let the cardboard speak for itself in the gallery below. I added the card backs from COMC -- where these can have some meaty price tags attached -- since, well, I don't even know where I put them since opening my set just days ago. Maybe they're off with Baxter?
