What’s Buzz-worthy: I went to this go-to cheap favorite of mine simply because I could -- hit that link up top where they are in stock for the first time in a seemingly long time -- and while this box wasn't one that included extra hits (it happens quite a bit here) it was one that included some of the key reasons why it's worth a look. The Bad News Bears are here in standard, mini and autograph form and my ink this time was from that motley crew. This base set is loaded with “some of the nation’s greatest athletes, entertainers and newsmakers from the Golden Age of America.” There are minis and there are Exhibit box-toppers that couldn’t be more different and then there are nods to food-issue sets, historic moments and pop culture. Among the signers are Bo Derek, Stan Lee, Jerry Lewis, Yogi Berra and Penny Marshall to name a few. Other autos can make these boxes a little hit and miss but the minis and memorabilia cards help these a tad. The White parallel here is a tougher find -- I've not pulled many -- and there are some tough memorabilia cards to be found here -- the Titanic and the Hindenburg -- and then simple ones like John Belushi. It's a cheap box that may not command big money every time but there is a ton of interesting stuff here.
