What's Buzz-worthy: The National is almost here so I figured I'd open one of these past show-special boxes (made for the event) from the past once again. The last time I popped the lid here I pretty much landed the same breakdown of things save for one more insert/parallel last time that turned into a un-stamped hit this time -- meaning it looks just like the same cards when they originally arrived in packs -- that was a rarer (one in 432 packs) when originally made. A bit funky as I don't know if this is a typical find or not -- its sellsheet didn't note unstamped retro mem cards. Maybe it appeared here since I landed a 1/1 auto? (My last box had a 1/1 auto ... but it was an auto-mem card from a past National just like the others here.) BenchWarmer boxes can often include oddball inclusions and extra cards, too, so it's also not all that unusual. ... Like I said last year, is this the best box of Benchwarmer cards I've opened? Probably not but the mix was perhaps better than some releases. This one is comprised of stamped previous National show cards with a new premium-stock (some of the best thick cards I've seen production-wise save for perhaps some chipping issues on foil side likely affected by the non-pack tray presentation/packaging here) and then a tiny crop of rookies. The base set here is huge with some of the other names not seen here including Carmen Electra, Mary Riley, Kara Monaco, April Scott, Gail Kim, Traci Brooks, Torrie Wilson, Kitana Baker and Sara Underwood. (And plenty more from the entertainment realm.) There are a number of autograph sets here and the Archive approach allows for other stuff like ring cards, auto-mem cards, kiss cards, prop cards and more here ... all with varying autograph potential and big names (with so many per box, landing one or two key names can pay for a box if not more). This one wasn't great but I don't think it was bad, either, and that's enough that I'll probably dabble more here at some point as there aren't that many hit-loaded boxes out there like these in this price range. At worst, I'll add some variety to the ol' autograph collection.

Box Grade: A- (a 1/1 is always good along with some better names than most ... but not sure there are any truly "big" cards this time, either)
