What's Buzz-worthy: Buzz had waited to dig in on this one because of the painted look, but the results and cards themselves looked better than expected. Simply put, this is a set that looks better in-person than in scans. ... The mix of legends and today's players really makes this one work with an insert card in every pack (at least here) and a good mix of Rookie Cards as well. We're not sure every blaster includes a hit, but finding a simple Frank Thomas card in our final pack was a plus. ... The canvas surface that DK fans remember from the past is here, adding a simple touch to a base set that feels more deep and cleaner than other sets -- it really just comes down to whether you're into the painted look. A blaster box is perhaps the best way to try this one if you're not sure, though a hobby box will deliver more stuff guaranteed.
