What's Buzz-worthy: This one is in the big sale at a price that was too low to ignore because I've found that this release can deliver very well at times despite the retail odds posted on these packs. Not every box contains a hit, but I've had many I've ripped deliver two and this one is the best so far with an on-card sig from John Cena. I had been waiting to use this one during a #Buzz8in8 marathon, but when I saw it was as cheap as it is right now in the sale, I figured I'd post it now so you bargain hunters who do WWE can get in on the action, too. (Besides, I have four more boxes on the way ... we'll see how that goes.) The last time I ripped into five of these boxes, two did not have a hit but the rest had two and some were rarer parallels. There also were some rarer Gold base card parallels (/10) in the mix, too. ... As said before, this is a highlights set and that immediately creates a few challenges on how these cards might be received by collectors, but there are a ton of moments captured here from a time were NXT might have been at its character-developing peak with an influx of new talent just breaking into the top ranks of WWE and getting a good look on cardboard. The only drawback? Thin stock and black borders -- they can easily come out of packs with minor tweaks that can derail your Gem Mint 10 dreams if you're crazy enough to slab key moments. (I am on a couple of the cards here.) The key reason to rip here, though, is the ink. Autographs are possible here -- and they are on-card sigs -- with a list that includes Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, Sting, Pat Patterson, Michael Hayes, Bayley, Kevin Von Erich, Gerald Brisco, Charlotte, Dory Funk Jr., Terry Funk, Lana, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Ric Flair. While no hits are guaranteed, I have found stuff here far more than when I have not -- maybe three or four hitless boxes out of a dozen or so in the last year -- all on the cheap. The Cena ink is a big win from this one for the price -- hit that link.
