What's Buzz-worthy: The curiosity got me -- I was curious whether any Tua Tagovailoa-loaded 2017 boxes were still out there but they weren't. Then I pondered whether the potential Heisman-winning and dominating Alabama QB might be found in these. Technically, it's a possibility since there are four 2017 cards per bonus box here along with a past box from 2010-16. The past box here was from 2011 -- good in that it's all top-loaded hits, bad in that most of the players are likely done playing by now -- but I'll take that over the 2010 option that included base cards and hits scattered into packs. This event is a high school All-American game and the cards can capture the attention of fans of schools while their stars are playing and then have a second life after the best ones get their professional shot. Had my 2011 box been opened back then? The Jaxon Shipley cards would have been huge (though the one auto is weak flow-wise) and Bubba Starling's MLB hype machine was perhaps at its peak so this one would have been even bigger. My bonus box was one that delivered a printing plate for TCU's current sophomore quarterback which might pay for everything based on other 1/1 sales and then the others aren't bad finds. If I was a hardcore college fan (I'm not -- just more focused on my team), this one would probably wow me more but the rarer inclusions here in both the past and present box seem better than the norm. I'm tempted to try one more of these if I can find it on the cheap -- but the possibilities are clearly making these dry up just like the regular boxes since we're in the midst of the college football season.
