What's Buzz-worthy: Found this one in the bargain bin, so figured we could revisit it again -- and the Rookie Cards were almost identical to the last box (seven of the nine the same). As said previously, this brand may have gotten the best grades of any product here in the past as a new retro-styled release for the NFL -- and it's not far off here, though there's one feature on these cards that feels way out of place. It's gloss. All of the 300 base cards and the inserts are heavily glossed, which feels a bit in contrast to the retro stock that these cards are found on. Other than that, the model of 100 active, 100 retired and 100 rookies (the rookies are definitely shorter than the other two groups) really works. You get a mess of stars in this one with a new but still oldschool design that feels retro and comfortable (though it's definitely not as strong as the previous year -- and the TTM autograph options here feel lesser with the gloss). With hobby boxes priced on the affordable side, this is definitely one to consider for collectors, beginners and those who appreciate the game. After having ripped the 2018 blasters -- ones with guaranteed hits -- I prefer this one, despite its hitless status.
