What's Buzz-worthy: Buzz was spoiled with his Inaugural Edition box from this brand, so this collector opted to try a box of Vol. 2 since it's in the big sale. The differences between the two series in packaging alone are interesting -- small rigid envelopes with cards in team bags then, a tray with the cards here -- but the general formula of the first series is used here and enhanced. The draws here are pieces of signed documents, cut autos, stamp cards, printing plates and other inserts. The only drawback here? If you dug in on the first release heavily, you'll get more. This one's base cards is a mix of the first series (200 cards) with some from the new release, too. That's likely a move that helps the "names" found inside -- the first set includes presidents, signers for the Declaration of Independence and other historic Americans. This box was strong on modern presidents but the names in the second series weren't generally of the household variety. The hit here was also a more recent one -- no John Hancock Relic this time -- but was of a subject with just a single card on the checklist. These boxes deliver some very unique creations and they're worth a look if you're mildly interested in history. While I prefer the first series' packaging (cards from that box feel a little crisper/cleaner than these corners-wise), this series includes the first one's basic stuff and adds to it. At a slightly lower price, it might have a little more potential. If you want to try something different or surprise someone with something unusual, it's definitely worth a look. (You can find some pieces that command strong cash, too.)
