What’s Buzz-worthy: This box didn't deliver a lot of "big" unless you're a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but this format seems like it's the way to go with retail as it delivers similar to last year -- a boatload of inserts, rookies and parallels and a guaranteed hit. The key? To make sure you get the red hanger box and not the orange hanger box. These with the guaranteed hit are $5 more than the hitless ones, but that's a bit of safety in case you don't land anything big (at least there's a hit to fall back on). The blasters will deliver more rookies (11 in the one you'll see here soon) but only four inserts and a hit -- and the rest is base cards. I don't see any indicators that there are a lot of variations in this one unlike its baseball and NASCAR counterparts so that one really is about the base set. Depending on what you collect and what you like, both of these formats can deliver differently -- for me it's these red hangers. I probably won't bust as much as last year -- I did a lot and this year's set design feels a little basic for me with a couple of the other early NFL releases feeling more comfortable -- but I like the mix of what you'll find here without breaking the bank.
