What's Buzz-worthy: I haven't busted any of this for a long time but with it a sub-$10 Black November box I bit. Why? Some good ink and early cards for young stars can be found here ... and if you don't find those you can still land a lot of stars and inserts. This time? An autograph -- not the norm -- of an older driver but there are others you can land that are wins. Many boxes, of course, include memorabilia cards and that works well, too, at a price like this -- especially if there's a good name involved. This one is a subset-loaded release that's full of variations -- easy pulls that help make them fun and not a burden as they are easy to spot -- with plenty inside a box that feels like it's not the norm. That makes this a fun rip, especially when you land ink for your guaranteed hit like this one. The variations for standard cards are easy to spot -- the names or nicknames are centered -- while the 1985 Retro subset cards carry nicknames. The set leads off with Race Kings, then five Rated Rookies, base drivers, base cars, Retro cards and then Legends. Hobby boxes deliver a boatload of stuff, too, with more guaranteed. In either format, this is worth the look.
