What's Buzz-worthy: The Ronald Acuña Jr. hunt came up short here but these boxes, especially now that they are down from that original price tag, can deliver good volume and plenty of shots at Rookie Cards of MLB's young superstar. There are no guaranteed hits here and I didn't land one but you get a ton of cards for an Optic-stock box with 20 of them, the Shock Prizms, only found here. Between all of the parallels and the variations, there is a lot to see here -- for example, I found three different Ken Griffey Jr. cards. This box did include a few key names so it wasn't bad at this price -- I passed on this format when they first arrived since I didn't see the Shock cards being worth the original cost unless you got lucky on names. With Acuña and others in this one doing well, it's a little easier to get a winning box. ... How do you know you have a variation if it's not obvious? Check the backs and look for black baseballs in the design instead of white ones. The Walmart mega box delivers less but different color and a guaranteed auto -- this one delivers volume and that can pay off if you land the right names more than once.
