What's Buzz-worthy: Why dig into these blasters now? This one shows you why -- Baker Mayfield Rookie Cards and a hit in every box ... and that could also be Mayfield. The rookie crop gets the main focus in these boxes on the hits and the Pink parallels -- you get one Rated Rookie and one standard rookie in that color in every box and then the standard RC volume also is consistent from box to box. Landing the right names in the right colors are key here and even though Optic is a brand where they made a good volume, it's a popular one where this brand will be one watched for a long time, meaning wax volume is going nowhere but down. I know many prefer Prizm, but the photos here and the design for the Rated Rookies is simply stronger in my book -- so when I see them I'm ripping them. You don't get as many inserts in these boxes vs. other formats -- less variety -- but there are exclusives as Pinks are only found here. This is an A+ box for sure in my book ... yet it's one that can be topped. Other formats of blasters don't guarantee a hit but those include more elsewhere and that could also pay off. Hit hobby boxes if you want guaranteed ink and other formats -- link above -- can also deliver well in different ways. They are all worth a look now, especially if Mayfield builds upon last season quickly this year.
