What’s Buzz-worthy: If you've never pulled a 1/1 card, here's one for you -- and you get three per box. These are the proof cards used before Leaf Trading Cards' latest Pop Century product was printed and the cards were signed -- blank-back cards that are encased in Leaf holders. There's no info on the boxes of this one, but using Troyer's cards as an example there could be several colors to chase here for every card -- at least 10. For the late star of Mini-Me fame, there are standard Metal, Black, Blue, Gold, Super Gold, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple and Red versions. It's unclear how the clear proofs work, but they have colors to chase, too. There are a couple of signed album redemption cards in this product good for autographs from the legendary bands U2 and N.W.A. but those are long odds so I wouldn't expect them here. What I think may help this one would be adding just a single auto from the product -- perhaps a special color but I'm not picky -- that might spark some speculative buying beyond those who are curious about it like I was. I previously picked up one of these for a multi-sport release and it included three different colors like this -- all 1/1 cards there, too. This one seems a little more interesting and this box led off with Troyer followed by cards of the former couple. Some of these proofs could have strong demand based on who you find, while others might not break the bank -- to me that's fun and the variety here adds to it. These are Leaf-specific slabs and about the only drawback on these is that there's not a sleeve inside the slab. I picked this box up at a sale price of about $10 a card -- and when you can find it at that it's one to at least try once. There are a number of stars here who would pay for a box or two based on recent eBay sales and it seems there might be a better up-side here for celebs vs. sports stars.
